A NEW DECADE
Even in the tough and turbulent economy of 2009, Bob stayed busy with meetings, trade shows, suites, and private events. We are thankful to all of our clients and look forward to working with many of them again, as well as our new clients, in 2010 ... and beyond!
PICKING UP WHERE WE LEFT OFF
New client AetherQuest Solutions brought Bob to Las Vegas to provide some amazing demonstrations of mindreading mixed with a message at the National Veterans' Conference. From Vegas – it was off to San Francisco and the Design Automation Conference for client Tanner EDA. This was Bob's 5th year in a row with them at the show, and he'll be returning for his 6th year at DAC 2010 in Anaheim. (As you can see in the photos, Bob is a DAC favorite, always pulling huge crowds and getting the attendees to walk into the exhibit - after his presentation - to pick up information and see a demo.)

ANOTHER STANDING OVATION FOR BOB'S KEYNOTE PRESENTATION!
Then Bob hopped a plane to Phoenix and was whisked to the Hyatt Regency where he was the opening keynote speaker at Pfaff's 23rd Annual International Conference.
Pfaff is one of the leading makers of sewing machines and products and Bob was treated to an enthusiastic audience of over 300 dealers/attendees of the conference. Bob's delivered his "What Can I Do From This Point Forward" presentation which was "right-on-target" for this amazing group of fun and innovative people.
Here is what the Director of Corporate Events had to say about Bob's keynote:
While Bob headed home to
prepare for an extensive fall schedule, long- time associates Bill Jones
and Leslie Chambers where on hand at VMWorld in San Francisco.
Bill was tech presenting for client Mellanox and Leslie was tech
presenting for client EMC at the show.
(The BIG NEWS for Bill Jones is that he's a semi-regular on FOX TV's new hit series "GLEE.” Bill plays the news anchorman on the show and is looking forward to his upcoming appearances next season. Additionally, he is also looking forward to working with Mellanox again, as they signed him for 4 more shows in 2010!
OVER 25,000 PEOPLE LISTEN TO BOB'S PODCASTS!
As a side note: Even with his busy schedule, thanks to his netbook and a portable microphone, Bob continues to provide free motivational and spiritual podcasts at http://www.bobgarneraudio.com . Currently, over 25,000 people worldwide tune into Bob's free audio podcasts. Additionally, Bob's book "ESP-Untap Your Psychic Potential” is about to go into its 3rd printing and his book - written in collaboration with Stephen Covey, Ken Blanchard and 9 other experts on success - "Blueprint for Success - Proven Strategies for Success and Survival” is still selling well. Oftentimes, Bob's clients will give these books to their groups after his presentations. They make great gifts and Bob always enjoys meeting with people and signing his books after the show.
OFF TO THE EAST COAST
While Bill and Leslie were wowing them at VM World, Bob jetted off to the East coast for some back-to-back private events. Typically held in the private homes, retreats - and even yachts - of those who have seen Bob at a meeting or trade show, Bob loves doing these events!
First it was off to a beautiful mansion in Greenwich, Connecticut, then to a personal retreat on Cape Cod and then to a luxurious private home outside of Boston. Bob headed back home to the Central Coast of California for a little rest… but not too much.
HEARD IT THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE (TEXAS, THAT IS ...)
Soon, Bob was flying to the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas – just outside of Dallas - to enjoy some fine southern cooking and - more importantly - work with long time client HealthPort at the American Health Information Management Association Conference. A long-time favorite at the show, Bob drove record numbers of attendees into HealthPort's exhibit and did such a great job again that they immediately rebooked for AHIMA 2010 in Orlando. Here is what HealthPort had to say about Bob:
From AHIMA, Bob headed to Los Angeles and the National Association for Home Care Conference - for new client, HealthMEDX. The marketing manager had worked with Bob at a previous company, and when he was hired at HealthMEDX, he took Bob with him. (This actually happens quite often, and Bob is grateful for the loyalty from his clients.) Here is what was said, as Bob wrapped up the conference:
LA ... SF ... ORLANDO ... HOUSTON!
NAHC's schedule overlapped Oracle Open World - a conference at which Bob has appeared for nearly 10 years. Bob's long-term client Cognizant understood the overlap and brought in associate Barry Tamarkin to work the massively busy opening day, until Bob could get to the show in San Francisco.
Barry is a superb close-up magician (and an associate of 10 years) who knows how to mix his astounding feats of magic with the client's message and always does an outstanding job. On day # 2, Bob made it to the show to front Cognizant's huge 60 x 80 foot booth, bringing in the crowds and creating a buzz on the floor.
Also at OOW, associate David Levitan was with long-time client Network Appliance. A magician and mentalist, David has worked through us with Network Appliance for several years, and they love his enthusiasm and professionalism. Leslie Chambers was also working her own magic delivering the technical presentation for long-time client EMC. In fact, as soon as she was done at OOW, Leslie boarded a red-eye for Orlando and ARMA - Association of Records Managers & Administrators Conference and then winged to Houston for the SEG - Society of Exploration Geophysicists - all for EMC. That's a lot of frequent flier miles in just a couple of weeks.
Bob was also busy, as he headed for another private event in San Diego. This event started with a reception at the Yacht Club and then retreated to a private yacht where Bob mixed and mingled with a select group of 25 people. How fun!
After this heady experience, Bob zoomed to Boston to appear at the BAI - Bank Administration Institute Retail Delivery Conference for FISERV. Another long-time client of Bob's, FISERV is one of the leading providers of technology solutions to the financial world, including banks, credit unions, and securities processing organizations. The show was a great success for FISERV, as Bob dazzled the crowd and informed them of all the services that FISERV has to offer.
Right after the show closed, Bob appeared at another private event in the Boston area. A beautiful home was the backdrop for Bob's intimate presentation for 15 people who spent nearly 4 hours with him, as he amazed and startled them with his demonstrations of mindreading and ESP.
NOT HEADING HOME ... YET
After this amazing evening, Bob headed directly to Chicago and the AAHSA - American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging – again for client HealthPort. Bob was a hit, delivering the highest numbers HealthPort had ever had at this conference. (HealthPort re-booked Bob on the spot for the 2010 show.)
While Bob was wrapping it up in Chicago, Bill Jones was at SuperComputing in Portland for Mellanox. A week later, Leslie Chambers rounded out her 2009 schedule at the RSNA - Radiological Society of North America also in Chicago and, once again, for EMC.
As the year came to a close, Bob was asked to deliver his ESP – Expect Something Phenomenal presentation for San Luis Obispo-based company, Glenn, Burdett, Phillips and Bryson. (Bob rarely performs at home on the Central Coast.) It was GBPB's annual holiday gathering, at which Bob had appeared several years before. As with his previous appearance, in lieu of his fee, Bob asked that the firm make a donation in his honor to Heaven Can Wait Equine Rescue & Sanctuary in San Miguel, CA. Bob and I sit on the advisory board to this grass-roots organization that rescues abused and abandoned horses and donkeys. Some of the rescued horses are the offspring of famous racehorses like Seattle Slew and Secretariat. Unable to "make the grade” as "winners,” these horses are often mistreated and then abandoned. Heaven Can Wait offers them and other abused equines a safe home and a new life. Visit http://www.heaven-can-wait.net .
The first show of 2010 for Bob was the NRF – National Retail Federation Conference - in New York City where Bob appeared in the TelSource exhibit. The NRF is a huge show, but Bob drew in the crowds and got attendees to visit TelSource's demos. Having never used anything like Bob before, here is what the VP of Marketing had to say, after this premier experience:
As I write this, Bob is heading
off to New Orleans to deliver the opening kick-off for Nielsen
Claritas' 2010 Strategic Planning Conference. A division of the Nielsen
Corporation – this company helps its customers by
understanding the demographic characteristics and buying behaviors of
consumers. Then Bob will wing to Dallas and the beautiful Hilton
Anatole to wrap up Sterling Commerce's 2010 Global Sales Kick-Off
for 400 sales U.S. and international representatives.
All in all, 2009 was a busy
year and 2010 is certainly off to a great start. Again, we are so grateful to
our clients. As the year unfolds, here are some of the places you'll find Bob
or an associate: (as of Jan. 2010)
